Here is an extremely rare Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Inaugural Badge from the 1997 Presidential Inauguration of Bill Clinton. This is the Traditional Badge that has the name of the President and Vice President. The tradition of issuing Inaugural Badges to the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police began in 1933. They were Official Badges that were given to identify the Police Officers who were involved in Presidential Inaugural Security. They were used during the period surrounding the Inaugural Festivities. This Badge was made by the Blackinton Company, which has been the official maker of these badges since 1933.
